Set 6: Return of Majesty Lord Blaster?

A number of cards have been revealed as being in GBT06 that look to add support the the Royal Paladin "Blaster" archetype. Including the re-skinning and re-skilling of a certain High Beast Trigger, which as a fan of the archtype, and that certain card that I named my blog after, is very exciting! I took MLB to trios in 2013 and it has always been one of the more unique decks, so to see it get support three years later is amazing!

Lets take a look at the revealed cards-

Favourite Disciple of Light and Dark, Llew


AUTO (RC) When this unit is boosted by a unit named "Blaster Friend, Barcgal" or " Flogal Paladin, Flogal", until end of battle this unit gets (Power) +3000, and "AUTO (RC) (Counter-Blast 1 and put this unit into soul) At the end of the battle that this unit attacked a vanguard, you may pay the cost. If you do search your deck for up to one grade 2 card with "Blaster" in it's card name, Call it to (RC), shuffle your deck, and that unit gets (Power) +3000"


This was the first of the three cards revealed, which for some including myself, acting as something of a tease on Bushiroad's part, as they essentially revealed three units with just this one.

The skills work in conjunction with each other so lets take a look at the other revealed units-

 Floral Paladin, Flogal 

CRITICAL 

(AUTO) (RC) (CB1) At the end of the battle that your unit named "Blaster Blade" attacked a Vanguard, you may pay the cost. If you do, choose up to one unit named "Blaster Blade" on (RC), (STAND) it, Return this unit to the deck and shuffle. 

Blaster Friend, Barcgal 

(AUTO) (RC) When your unit named "Blaster Blade" is placed on (VC) or (RC) in the same column as this unit if you have a vanguard with "Blaster" in it's card name (Countercharge 1)














So a sizable chunk of a boost to the Royal Paladin archtype, and of course the all important life breathed back into Flogal! So the main synergy combo is between Flogal and Llew. Barcgal is great for sustaining the effect of "Blaster Blade", but Flogal and Llew can allow for 3 rearguard attacks, all of which hit at least 12k. as well as charging soul and recycling a critical trigger. It isn't the legion revival a lot of MLB players were hoping for (although at the time of writing this article there are still two RR slots left in the set.. ) it is a huge boost to the deck. Not quite enough to accelerate it to tier 0 as was the case with Ripple, but hey at least MLB won't be relimited.

Just a quick idea for a deck, you could always play other strides to bring the cost down, i.e. not including the Altmiles!

Overall it is always nice to see Bushiroad supporting an older deck, especially a fan favourite like MLB!
